By booking a place on a Wild Rising retreat, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These ensure the safety, clarity, and shared expectations between all parties involved. These Terms and Conditions outline the agreement between you (the parent/guardian and participant) and Wild Rising, regarding participation in our programs.
1. Participant Eligibility
- Our teen retreats are open to girls aged 12 to 15 years.
- Participants must be physically and emotionally able to take part in nature-based activities such as walking, swimming, and group participation.
- Parents or guardians must disclose any medical, emotional, or behavioural needs at the time of booking.
- A completed registration form and full payment must be received prior to the start date.
- Parent/guardian consent is required for all participants under 18.
2. Parent/Guardian Consent
By booking your daughter into this retreat, you:
- Confirm you are the legal parent or guardian and have the authority to grant consent.
- Give permission for your daughter to travel by ferry with the Wild Rising team and other participants to and from the retreat island location.
- Acknowledge that your daughter will be in the care of qualified Wild Rising staff for the duration of the retreat, including overnight stays.
3. Supervision & Safety
- Wild Rising takes the wellbeing and safety of all participants seriously.
- All facilitators hold Working With Children Checks, and appropriate first aid qualifications.
- Supervision is provided 24 hours a day for the entire retreat duration.
- Risk assessments are conducted for all activities and locations, including ferry transport.
4. Travel & Logistics
- Participants will travel to the island retreat location via ferry, accompanied by Wild Rising staff.
- You will receive details about meeting points, packing lists, and return times well in advance.
- It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure the participant arrives at the departure point on time.
5. Medical Information & Emergencies
- You must complete a Health & Permission Form prior to the retreat.
- In the event of illness or injury, Wild Rising staff will take appropriate first aid measures and contact the parent/guardian as soon as possible.
- You give permission for your daughter to receive medical treatment if necessary, including emergency transport.
6. Cancellations & Refunds
- Full payment is required to secure your child’s place.We do not offer refunds for change of mind, scheduling conflicts, or no-shows.
- Cancellations 30+ days before the retreat: Full refund
- Cancellations within 30 days: Refund minus a $50 admin fee.
- Cancellations within 14 days or non-attendance: No refund.
- In the unlikely event that Wild Rising must cancel the retreat (e.g. due to weather, illness, or unforseen circumstances), you will be offered a full refund or credit toward a future program.
- We reserve the right to make changes to the retreat schedule, facilitators, guest speakers, or venue if necessary.
7. Code of Conduct
We expect all participants to:
- Follow safety guidelines and listen to facilitators’ instructions.
- Use mobile phones only at designated times, if at all. (We encourage digital disconnection.)
- All participants are expected to behave respectfully toward staff, fellow campers, and the environment.
- Bullying, aggressive behaviour, or repeated disregard for camp guidelines may result in a participant being sent home at the parent’s expense.
- Camp staff reserve the right to make decisions in the best interest of the group at all times.
Wild Rising reserves the right to contact parents and request early pickup at their own expense if a participant behaves in a way that compromises group safety or emotional wellbeing.
8. Assumption of Risk
Participation in the retreat is voluntary. While every effort is made to ensure a safe and supportive environment, Wild Rising is not responsible for unforeseen incidents or personal loss. Legal guardians acknowledge and accept this risk on behalf of the participant.
Participation in a nature-based retreat involves inherent risks (e.g. outdoor terrain, water activities, weather). While we do all we can to minimise risks, by booking this retreat you acknowledge and accept these risks on behalf of your child.
- While we take all reasonable care to ensure the safety of participants, outdoor and group activities carry inherent risks.
- By registering, you acknowledge these risks and agree not to hold Wild Rising, its staff, or affiliates liable for any injury, loss, or damage that may occur.
- Emergency medical treatment will be sought if required, and you will be contacted as soon as possible.
- Wild Rising is not responsible for any loss of, or damage to, personal belongings brought to the camp. Participants are advised to leave valuable items at home.
- A medical and emergency contact form must be completed before the retreat. Participants with specific needs or medical conditions must disclose this information so we can provide the appropriate support.
9. Mentoring Disclaimer
Wild Rising facilitators and staff act solely as mentors and guides, providing support, encouragement, and personal development opportunities. We are not licensed counselors, therapists, or medical professionals and do not offer clinical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you or your child require professional mental health care or counseling, we strongly recommend seeking assistance from qualified health practitioners.
