About Wild Rising

Our Why

At Wild Rising, our “why” is simple – we want to contribute something good to the world.
We exist to make life brighter for teen girls: to ease their burdens, lift their spirits, and remind them of the strength, resilience, and kindness they carry — even when it’s tucked behind screens or quiet smiles.

We know life can bring silent pressures, self-doubt, and distractions. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unseen.

Through nature, creativity, and connection, we offer space to pause, reconnect, and rise.
We believe that when girls feel supported and empowered, they not only thrive — they become fierce protectors of each other and the planet.

Mission

We empower girls to build confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of self through nature-based experiences that foster connection, well-being, and personal growth. In safe, inclusive spaces, they explore their strengths, embrace who they are, and grow the skills to navigate life with confidence and purpose.

Vision

We envision a world where every girl feels empowered, valued, and connected—to herself, her community, and the natural world. Through grounding experiences in nature, we help nurture a lifelong sense of belonging and care for the Earth.

Values

We’re a purpose-led social enterprise grounded in values of empowerment, inclusivity, and integrity. We believe in creating safe, supportive spaces where all girls feel seen, heard, and valued. Nature is at the heart of everything we do—we honour its power to calm, connect, and inspire. Through meaningful experiences, we nurture confidence, community, and care for the planet.

Our Team

Katie

I’m a nature-based educator, teen mentor, and co-founder of Wild Rising, with over a decade of experience helping young people reconnect with the outdoors and themselves.

Nature has always been my reset button – a place to catch my breath, find clarity, and recharge. And it doesn’t have to be some wild adventure (although those are fun!). Often, it’s just the warmth of the sun, birdsong in the morning, or dappled light filtering through the trees. These simple moments in nature can bring calm, confidence, and joy. And now science backs what many of us have always felt – that time in nature supports mental, physical, and emotional well-being.

Over the years, I’ve led outdoor adventures, supported teens on conservation projects, and run nature-based programs in schools and the community.

Being a mum to my two daughters is a constant inspiration. They keep me on my toes, make me laugh, and remind me every day why this work truly matters.

I’m here to create a space where girls feel seen, valued, and free to be their awesome, authentic selves. Because when young people feel supported and connected like this, they don’t just grow, they thrive. And more than that, they rise with strength, compassion, and purpose.

Susannah

I’m the mother of two spirited teens, a passionate mentor, and the co-founder of Wild Rising. My life’s work is rooted in a simple belief: nature is one of our greatest teachers. Out among the trees, the waves, or under a wide open sky, we find the clarity, confidence, and connection that can feel so far away in everyday life.

My own path has been shaped by a deep love for the natural world and a curiosity for how we can live in harmony with it. With a degree in science and years spent in environmental education, I’ve had the privilege of delivering education experiences for both government and private organisations in the UK and Australia. Founding my own environmental education company gave me the chance to blend two of my greatest passions—storytelling and nature—to inspire people to see the Earth not as something separate from us, but as a part of who we are.

Today, I guide teens in finding their voice and their values, creating spaces where they feel they belong—to themselves, to their community, and to the world around them. I also work with women as a business coach, bringing heart-led strategy and soulful leadership to help early-stage, purpose-driven entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life. For me, coaching is about more than building a business—it’s about building something meaningful, sustainable, and aligned with your deepest values.
