“I can’t speak highly enough of Wild Rising and what it offers teenage girls. Knowing Katie and Suzie and how they show up with calm, grounded, and nurturing energy gives me so much confidence in what they’re creating. It’s exactly the kind of environment I’d hoped my daughters would find.

Their approach is thoughtful, supportive, and genuinely empowering and helping girls feel safe to be themselves. They’re incredible role models who connect so naturally and build trust with ease. I know there will be a beautiful blend of nature, creativity, and connection woven through every moment.

This kind of experience is so valuable during the teenage years – just when they need it most. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Wild Rising to other parents looking for something truly meaningful for their daughters.”

– Maura, mum of 13 year old girl

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions about the retreat? Here are the ones we hear most often – with all the answers you need to plan your day.

What happens if the weather isn't ideal?

Don’t worry, we’re prepared for all weather! The retreat will go ahead rain or shine. Activities are designed to be flexible, so if it’s wet or windy, we’ll move some sessions indoors or under sheltered areas. Our priority is safety and enjoyment, so we’ll make sure everyone stays comfortable while still having a great experience connecting with nature and each other.

Comfort and preparedness are key! We suggest wearing weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes for outdoor activities. Please bring:

  • A packed lunch

  • A water bottle

  • Hat and sunscreen (if sunny)

  • Rain jacket or coat (just in case)

  • Any personal medication (please label clearly and inform facilitators)

  • Any personal items you may need for the day

We provide morning tea and all other materials and equipment needed for the retreat activities.

Oxford Falls Peace Park is easy to access and has an on-site parking lot for participants driving to the retreat.

For Scotland Island, we’ll meet the girls at the Church Point ferry terminal and accompany them on a scenic ferry ride to the retreat, which is a fun start to the day! If you’re using public transport, there is a bus from Mona Vale (Bus 156) to Church Point.

We’ll send clear directions, a map, and access tips to all participants ahead of the retreat once your booking is confirmed.

Your retreat will be led by our experienced facilitators, Susannah and Katie, who are trained in youth mentoring, environmental education and first aid. We are passionate about supporting teenage girls to build confidence, connection, and wellbeing in a safe and empowering environment. All facilitators have current Working With Children Checks and have extensive experience in leading outdoor and personal development programs for teens.

To learn more about our team and their approach, you can visit our About Page.

The retreat includes a full day of thoughtfully designed activities, guided support from our qualified facilitators, and all materials needed to participate. We also provide morning tea, refreshments, and a welcoming space for connection and relaxation.

Each participant receives a carefully curated take-home bag, filled with resources and tools to continue the support and inspiration from the retreat.
